Alaniz Health Wins Prestigious Netty Award for Multicultural Design Impact in Healthcare

San Francisco, CA – May 22, 2024 – Alaniz Marketing is proud to announce that it has been awarded the highly coveted Netty Award for “Multicultural Design Impact in Healthcare” for its groundbreaking work on the UCSF Brain Health Registry. The award recognizes Alaniz’s innovative approach to healthcare equity through its efforts to increase diversity in clinical research by engaging underserved Latino communities.

The Netty Awards honor excellence in digital marketing and design, and Alaniz Marketing’s project stood out for its creativity, strategy, and measurable success in bringing underrepresented populations into clinical research. The UCSF Brain Health Registry, one of the world’s largest Alzheimer’s research initiatives, partnered with Alaniz to address a critical issue—lack of diversity among its participants. Through culturally tailored digital campaigns and multilingual microsites, Alaniz successfully recruited over 10,000 volunteers, including more than 6,700 Latinos and 4,400 older adult Latinos.

“We are honored to receive the Netty Award for our work in advancing healthcare equity,” said Roxanne Alaniz, CEO of Alaniz Marketing. “This project is a testament to the power of culturally aware marketing strategies that resonate with diverse communities and help close healthcare gaps.”

Innovation and Impact

Alaniz Marketing’s success in the UCSF Brain Health Registry campaign was driven by its unique approach to addressing the cultural, linguistic, and generational needs of Latino participants. The team developed three distinct microsites, each tailored to a different demographic: Spanish-speaking immigrants, bilingual first-generation U.S.-born individuals, and English-speaking second- and third-generation Latinos. These digital platforms were supported by targeted ads, social media campaigns, email marketing, and community outreach.

The results of the campaign have not only helped diversify the Brain Health Registry’s data set but have also influenced broader discussions around clinical trial diversity. Alaniz’s work has been cited in several research papers and industry white papers on healthcare diversity, and it continues to shape future campaigns for inclusive clinical research.
